This is a custom crafted version of the choir library, heavily modified to be more useful in a modern sampler like Kontakt. It’s an old library (very hard to find now, too) but extremely useful because it has consonants sampled individually (such as T, P, K, and Tzz) as well as uncommon singable consonants (such as Mmmm, Rrrr, and Zzzz). It is best used to “punch up” your favorite choir by overlaying syllables and consonants to help enunciate whatever your choir is already singing. The flexibility of this library to create any word you want is pretty good, just add your own reverb to blend it in with your choir library of choice.
Up to now, people have always simply done some kind of automatic conversion from Akai CD to Kontakt, which technically works, but the library simply isn’t very user friendly because you end up with 100’s of .nki files with parts of an instrument spread among several .nki files. Even worse it’s usually hard to figure out which instrument to use because some of them are left or right channel only, or mono converted, or a short looped version to save memory, or any of a dozen other things that are simply a waste of time in a modern sampler. This particular version was painstakingly created (by hand!) over two days in order to eliminate all that confusion, and was carefully planned out to be the most user friendly version available; About 95% of what you will need when using this library has been placed into a single .nki that has been setup with keyswitches. Going even further, a custom script was created to display the keyswitch layout while you’re using the instrument so that you never get lost or have trouble finding what you need.
Additionally, everything has been compressed to .ncw so the footprint is smaller, and a .nicnt + wallpaper have been created so that you can simply add the library to Kontakt without the hassle of manually creating your own library file. If you are in the habit of creating your own library files it is recommended to make sure that the SNPID number doesn’t conflict with something else you’ve already added into your library.
